Those of you who would like to come and play Congo and the new rhythm Caipirinhia in support of some kids groups we’ve been working with on Sunday should meet at 10.am at Priory Primary School (map below)
Parade sets of at 11.15am - finale in the Priory & Castle finished by 12.00pm.
If you would like to join in and you weren’t at CB on Wednesday night, please text Alex on 07949522326 to let him know you are coming, otherwise we won’t have a drum for you!
PS- The first ferry from South Shields is 10.15am - so that will be too late to get you there on time (for Mel, Diane etc.)
Cheers, Chris
Thanks to Tracey from the Mission to Seafarers for bring these to our attention:
Hi Guys,
we meet at 11:30am at St Bede’s School, Claypath Lane, South Shields, NE33 4PG
Assembly point 17
Parade set’s off at 1:00pm and should arrive in Bent’s Park at about 2.30pm.
It’s a long parade so three Weetabix in the morning is recommended!
Sorry folks! No session this week BUT we’ll be back on the 25th and this time we’ll mean business! We’re getting geared up for festival season. Coming up: The Cookson Parade, Mouth of the Tyne, and a couple of possible gigs in August, so watch this space.
We have a gig this Saturday! 7th June It’s at Druridge Bay Country Park for a massive family fun day which is raising funds for an African village. We’ll be teaming up with Worldbeaters again and it should be a lot of fun. We’ll be playing on stage and doing some parading betwen 11 and 2 so be there for 10:45 and wear yellow. We need as many people there as possible and we need to turn on the performance and rock out! Here’s a link to directions: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=druridge+bay+country+park&ie=UTF8&ll=55.317986,-1.549255&spn=0.004396,0.014334&t=h&z=17
And we won’t be at The Customs House this Wednesday 4th June. There’s a conference on so we’ll be at 41 Jesmond Vale (old Sinfonia Centre), Sandyford, NE2 1PG (opposite the Bluebell Pub). Map here:

If you can make the rehearsal then that would be great as we’ll be practising for Saturday, if not then just turn up on Saturday, the more the merrier. If anyone has transport issues then ring me, hope to see you there, Alex
